Our Bolton range echoes the numinosity of Pugin’s glasswork, of which many fine examples are to be seen at Bolton Abbey, giving reference to the multiplicity of Pugin's work.
The main fabric, Alton, is based on another of our fabrics, Talbot, shown in this set on the orphrey. Talbot originates from a set of vestments designed in 1848 by Pugin for St. Augustine's Abbey, Ramsgate. Colours shine through interlocking ogee, in this exquisite pattern, as if they were medieval panes of stained glass. Fleur de lys and quatrefoil motifs can be seen woven against a variety of colours of silk.
Combined with examples of vestments of the new Liturgical Movement, in particular the Borromean cut, this range is a popular set in our collection of stock vestments.
The range is lined in cotton sateen.
The High Mass Set comprises the following: Chasuble, Priest Stole, Dalmatic, Diaconal Stole, Tunicle (or additional Dalmatic & Diaconal Stole), Burse and Veil. A Maniple is also available as an extra option.
A coordinating cope and humeral veil are also available in this range. Please contact us and one of our team will be happy to assist you.
Please note that when out of stock, our stock vestments are made-to-order and our standard lead time is 8 weeks. This is liable to change. If you need the vestment urgently, please contact us or leave a note in the “Delivery Requirements” box at checkout.
