Davenport Stole
The Davenport fabric, exclusive to Watts & Co, was re-woven to celebrate the centenary of G.F. Bodley, its designer, in 2007. The patterns' origins can be found in Venice from the time of the Doge and most famously can be seen as the hanging in Hans Holbein the Younger's 'The Ambassadors'.
It is combined here with orphreys in Watts Gothic Trellis braid, referencing the church architecture of the Gothic Revival. This creates an apt link to our architectural roots, paying tribute to our founders. The addition of this orphrey alongside our Davenport fabric produces a beautifully authentic Gothic Revival-style vestment.
Named after two of Watts & Co.'s directors, Davenport is a cotton damask fabric.
Our stock stoles are available with a small cord diaconal tie upon request for no additional charge.
