Our Neri range is an interesting shape appearing a little more full than the traditional Roman cut, and featuring a Tau orphrey on the front of the chasuble. These outline orphreys are made from the highest quality gold metallic braid and are a perfect complement to our rich 'Goya' brocade, which makes up the main body of the vestments.
The 'Goya', designed by David Gazeley, is reminiscent of Spanish baroque aesthetics with the pattern repeat taking the form of undulating garlands of floral sprays and stylised leaves, which frame a central space filled with a bouquet of roses and smaller dainty flowers. The slightly raised design is woven with a beautiful silk/cotton blend alongside metallic lumiyarn threads to enhance the movement within the gold floral motif running through the pattern. Based upon 19th Century continental damasks, our 'Goya' brocade works wonderfully with the Neri cut.
This braid is also used in a decorative cross motif which adorns the burse and veil. The burse measures 22cm2 and the veil is 57cm2.
