Comper Cathedral Silk Damask
Designed by Sir Ninian Comper towards the end of the 19th century, this fine, rich pattern is based on a Renaissance pattern found in the National Gallery, London. It features Comper's signature strawberry, which honours his late father's devotion to the poor (according to tradition he died while distributing strawberries to the poor). Some similarities can also be found with some of William Morris' fabric designs.
This beautiful, large-scale pattern is suitable for all manner of vestments and has been one of our most popular fabrics for well over a century. It is woven in many authentic Comper colours.
