Comper Van der Weyden - Blue

This full, snaking pattern is based on the drapery surrounding the bed of St Elizabeth in the Saint Columba Altarpiece by Rogier Van der Weyden, depicting the adoration of the kings. It was designed by Sir Ninian Comper towards the end of the 19th century on a ribbed silk and features notable symbolic motifs such as the thistle and the pomegranate.

'Comper Van der Weyden' is seen as one of his most iconic designs, often used in hangings. It is woven in three authentic Comper colours.
