The St Thérèse range is one of our most intricate ranges. It is named after St Thérèse of Lisieux, popularly known as ‘The Little Flower’. It is this title to which the embroidery on our new range pays tribute. In a French cut, and inspired by beautiful French hand-embroidered vestments from the 19th century, these vestments feature embroidered orchids, rather than a contrasting orphrey fabric.
The range evokes the passion and crucifixion of Christ, primarily through the cross on the back, typical of French vestments, but also through the symbolism of orchids as Christ’s blood. The main fabric of these vestments is an elegant satin, which is complemented by the delicate silk taffeta lining.
