Our Bolton range echoes the numinosity of Pugin’s glasswork, of which many fine examples are to be seen at Bolton Abbey. Combined with examples of vestments of the new Liturgical Movement, in particular the Borromean cut, this range is a popular addition to our collection of stock vestments. These beautiful, lightweight, flowing vestments are based on the vestment work of the Abbaye Sainte-Madeleine du Barroux. They are made in a silk and wool blended fabric, unlined and with a woven orphrey braid.
This set of vestments, called “Holy Name”, reflects the international nature and appeal of Pugin’s work: the orphrey and embroidery are of English origin, whereas the fabric pattern is based on that of a chasuble currently in Australia. It is our second vestment set inspired by and based on the work of AWN Pugin.
